This week will see the opening of the Third Moscow Biennale of Modern Art. Artists and sculptors from all over the world are gathering in Moscow. American artist Nina Kobiashvili intends to set up a five-meter high ladies’ shoe in Kamergersky Lane. In front of the entrance to Gorky Park, in Stoleshnikov Lane, in Trubnaya Square and in Tsvetnoi Boulevard there will appear a three-meter mirror, a gigantic lipstick, a handbag as big as a bus, and other objects of womanish fetishism. They will stand till the end of October, until the biennale finishes. Exhibition titled “Dormitory Area” will be held near the Volzhskaya metro station, Lyublino District. Seventy (!) modern artists from all over the world will take one iron bed each (because it is “Dormitory Area”) and will turn them into art installations. Someone will turn the bed into a “post-modern” bench, someone – into a shopping trolley, and someone into … a mausoleum.
